How To Lock Folders on Windows Without Any Tool?

HOWTO We can find many software tools over internet which can lock your private folders on your computer. These tools may be free or you have to buy. Don't worry if you don't find any free software just follow the below steps to lock your folders without any software.

Step 1: Just open a notepad, copy the below code and paste it. And write your password in the place of "YourPassword". Save the files as Safelocker.bat on your desktop.

title Folder Locker

if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK

echo Are you sure you want to Lock the folder(Y/N)

set/p "cho=>"

if %cho%==Y goto LOCK

if %cho%==y goto LOCK

if %cho%==n goto END

if %cho%==N goto END

echo Invalid choice.

ren Locker "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

echo Folder locked

goto End

echo Enter password to Unlock folder

set/p "pass=>"

if NOT %pass%==YourPassword goto FAIL

attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Locker

echo Folder Unlocked successfully

goto End

echo Invalid password

goto end

md Locker

echo Locker created successfully

goto End

Step 2: Now a Batch file is created on your desktop. Just double click on it, it will create a folder with name "Locker" on the desktop.

Step 3: Now you can copy the files that you want to lock in that folder.

Step 4: Now double click on the batch file, it will ask you to lock the folder. Type 'y' and hit enter. Then folder will be locked and hidden on desktop.

Step 5: If you want to unlock the folder, double click on the batch file again, it will ask password, type the password that you have given while creating batch file and hit enter. Now you can see the unlocked folder on the desktop.

Here you need to know if anyone open the batch file, they can find your secret password, if at all they are familiar with windows / batch files.

This tip works on all Windows OS versions including latest Windows 7.
